Originally hybridized by Pauline Henry of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, SDC was introduced in 1985. It quickly went on to win the Ida Munson Award for best double in 1988 and the Stout Silver Medal (highest award a daylily cultivar can achieve) in 1993.
